IP surveillance solutions have taken CCTV cameras beyond security devices and converted them into dispensers of invaluable business information. Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) has buoyed access control above a mere door protection vehicle and made it “big data” producer. In both cases, these developments have altered the role of the security integrator and often changed the point person within their clients’ organizations who hires them.
