Rose State College aimed to modernize its Tanenbaum Aerospace and Cybersecurity Center (TACC) by upgrading its outdated audiovisual systems from 2007. The goal was to create highly functional, flexible learning spaces equipped with state-of-the-art AV technology, standardized controls and seamless collaboration tools. AVI-SPL provided an AV-over-IP (AVoIP) solution that exceeded expectations, significantly improving the educational environment.

Technology Implemented
AVI-SPL’s custom solution included a Q-SYS audio and control system, Epson PowerLite L770U projectors, Sharp WUXGA monitors, Shure ULXD wireless microphones and MXA920 ceiling array microphones. PTZ cameras provided comprehensive coverage, with advanced tracking in the tiered lecture hall. Room touch panels simplified operations, and AVI-SPL’s virtual reality (VR) design service enabled stakeholders to visualize designs and make adjustments pre-installation.
AVI-SPL Addresses Rose State College Challenges
The project required precise coordination with Rose State College’s IT and facilities teams, alongside third-party construction crews. Key challenges included integrating the new systems into existing infrastructure, configuring a hybrid AV/client network and ensuring all hardware installations adhered to exact specifications. AVI-SPL’s flexibility in making on-the-spot adjustments kept the project on track.

The new AV system transformed TACC into a cutting-edge educational facility. Faculty and students praised the upgraded systems for significantly enhancing teaching and collaboration.
