Per the company, the installation has thus transformed the moviegoing experience and created lucrative new sales opportunities.
Showcase Cinemas, a theater chain established in 1936, owns 76 venues spanning the U.S., U.K., Brazil and Argentina. Known for its comfort and quality, Showcase Cinemas offers a range of dining options. These include full-service restaurants, bars and concession stands. Additionally, it provides in-theatre dining options for a premium experience.
Technology is at the forefront of Showcase Cinemas’ digital approach, enhancing every aspect of its business. As part of a major refresh, the company partnered with DEEL Media, a digital-signage solutions specialist, to replace its outdated display network and elevate the visual experience for moviegoers. The installation included Philips Signage D-Line 4K UHD digital displays and Philips Videowall X-Line displays, selected for their versatility and picture-perfect performance.
PPDS’ ‘Open 2’ strategy allowed for the customization of displays through DEEL Media’s proprietary ‘Carbon’ content management system. This approach also ensured that each unique theatre design and environment was optimized for maximum impact.
The Philips Signage D-Line & X-Line Display Solution
The Philips Signage D-Line and Videowall X-Line displays now provide a constant stream of digital content and information. In doing so, it has replaced traditional paper-based messaging. Visitors can thus access box-office information, movie trailers, wayfinding, and extensive branding and marketing opportunities.
At the main food concession kiosks, connected Philips Signage D-Line displays offer an impressive digital menu experience. Visitors can thus view enticing visuals, pricing, calories and deals on all available refreshments. A recent survey revealed that 81% of moviegoers consider concessions an important part of their theater experience. Since the installation, food and beverage sales have increased by approximately 20%. Per the company, this has resulted in an immediate return on investment.
The Philips displays, combined with DEEL Media’s platform, also enable synchronized lobby takeovers for promotional content, seasonal events and special gatherings.
