In this exclusive podcast from Commercial Integrator, Clockaudio North America product and technology manager Simon LeDuc discusses a range of audio-related topics with Dan Ferrisi, group editor, commercial and security, Emerald.
The duo begins by chatting about the steps Clockaudio is taking to support the newer generation of field technicians as skill sets evolve and change. LeDuc references the so-called “iPhone generation” that’s coming to dominate our society. He says, “Instead of complaining about that change and generation, we’re adapting our products so that it’s easy to troubleshoot and we save time and money to companies.” That also filters down to adapting tutorials and videos to speak to younger generations.
Simon LeDuc from Clockaudio Offers Tips for Installers
Later in the conversation, LeDuc shares some tips for installers to help save them money and time, while also discussing techniques every tech should know (or know better). “I would say elimination tests — swap tests, elimination tests — are a good way to accelerate your troubleshooting,” LeDuc explains. “And that’s one thing I notice: not every tech knows how to do that.” He adds further detail on that point during the podcast.
In the second half of the video, LeDuc provides insights into what makes Clockaudio USB solutions different from the rest. Moreover, he explores some reasons why it might make sense to go with a condenser gooseneck rather than a dynamic mic, headset or built-in mic. Comparing the benefits of goosenecks versus dynamic mics, LeDuc says, “It’s very low profile. I can be at 12 or 18 inches away from it and get good quality.”
