Cisco to Invest $1.4 Billion in Internet of Things Company Acquisition

With its $1.4 billion acquisition of Jasper Technologies, a provider of cloud-based platforms for managing IoT services, Cisco edges closer to providing end-to-end IoT coverage.

Cisco continues to add to its repertoire.

The IT giant and conferencing solutions stalwart is enhancing its Internet of Things (IoT) credentials with an impending $1.4 billion acquisition of Jasper Technologies, a provider of cloud-based platforms that help companies managed IoT services.

Cisco will be adding new services surrounding IoT, including enterprise Wi-Fi, security for connected devices and advanced analytics to better manage device usage.

So not only will Cisco be able to provide the devices that will be connected when IoT starts growing in the coming years, the company will be able to provide the services and solutions that will manage and connect those devices as well.
