Published: 2017-08-01

The Canadian audio company Radial Engineering is well known for its direct boxes, as well as its 500 series studio products and guitar/bass stomp boxes. Adding to its selection of products, Radial has announced its latest products: the DAN-TX and DAN-RX stereo Dante audio converters.

Utilizing the Dante platform from Audinate, the DiNet DAN-TX and DAN-RX Dante stereo converters are engineered to provide a simple and reliable way to transmit and receive stereo analog audio signals over a Dante network.

Radial Dante Products Offer Versatility

Radial explains that integrators can utilize the DiNet DAN-TX and DAN-RX for an array of audio functions. The Vancouver-based company points out the DAN-TX can be used to connect mono instruments, as well as stereo musical components, and pro audio components for monitoring situations.

Some of the ways integrators can use the DAN-RX include connections within a PA system, integration into presentation systems, and personal monitoring. The DAN-TX incorporates 1/4-inch, RCA and 3.5mm inputs, along with a single Ethernet output that enables integration into a network. Radial says the DAN-TX’s inputs allow integrators to connect devices like CD/DVD/Blu-ray disc players, smart phones and tablets, mixers and recording interfaces.

The DAN-RX is a two-channel Dante receiver that enables integrators to place balanced analog audio at any point within a Dante network. Radial notes the DAN-RX features XLR outputs for connections to mixing consoles, powered speakers and amplifiers to route audio from front of house (FOH) to the stage or to remote rooms within a venue with separate PA systems.

Like the DAN-TX, the DAN-RX connects to a Dante network via a single Ethernet cable, and its ground-lift option can be used to minimize buzz and hum from ground loops. In addition, the DAN-RX includes a 3.5mm headphone with level controls to allow users to locally test their connections and sound quality. Radial adds that both products feature 14-gauge construction, 24-bit/96kHz converters, PoE options, and included 15-volt power supplies.
