Draper has announced Ropewalker screen, the company’s latest innovation in projection screens designed for large venues.

Built for large venues, particularly those with tall ceilings where the screen has to be mounted high above the floor, Ropewalker lowers a motorized screen housing from the ceiling using steel cables.

A motorized projection screen will descend from the housing to an appropriate height for the audience while creating a solution without black space between the screen and the ceiling.

The Draper Ropewalker screen can lower the screen housing up to 34 feet, making it a suitable fit for most large venues, including houses of worship, ballrooms and gymnasiums.

Available with tension and non-tensioned viewing surfaces up to 18 feet high and 18 feet wide, the Ropewalker features Optically Seamless TecVision, which is engineered for high contrast, precise resolution, color accuracy and a broad view cone while providing what Draper calls “superior quality, consistency and uniformity.”

“Together with the TecVision, Ropewalker creates a robust solution for many video needs,” according to the Draper press release.

“At Draper, we design and manufacture innovative solutions that provide best-in-class remedies supporting the simplest to the most complex project requirements,” said Jentry Wittkamper,  product manager and export sales manager for Draper, Inc.

“At InfoComm 2017, we received overwhelming feedback from our customers regarding the Draper Ropewalker screen and its problem-solving design.”

Since then, Draper has released minor updates to the Ropewalker that enhance the design and technology behind the “floating” projection screens. Draper will be taking orders on the Ropewalker following InfoComm 2018, where Draper will be in booth 2347.

Draper won a CI BEST award last year at the InfoComm show in Orlando for the Draper FlexShade Recharge motorized window treatments.

FlexShade Recharge shades are battery-operated shades with rechargeable batteries that are designed for situations where a motorized option is desired but wiring would be cost-prohibitive or impossible.

The shades can be installed in larger window openings—up to 12 feet high and 12 feet wide. The FlexShade Recharge can be recharged from a 110V outlet or an optional solar panel and each charge lasts months.
