Tell Us, #AVTweeps: What Are You Thankful For?

Published: 2019-11-11

Corny as it may be, it delights me to publish a certain story every November which chronicles what #AVTweeps are feeling particularly thankful for each year.

No, I don’t like it just because it reminds me of the American cartoon classic, “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (though that’s a perfectly legitimate reason).

No, I don’t like it just because it’s an easy idea for a story (but, hey, when you’re right, you’re right!).

I like assembling this story simply because it is a reminder to take whatever negativity I may have felt throughout the year and put it into some oft-needed context: yes, we all have challenges, but at the end of the day there is much to be thankful for.

FEATURED REPORT

If you email me ([email protected]) explaining something work-related or more general, you’ll be helping the #AVTweeps community put their own lives in context, too.

You’ll also be adding to a pool of folks who have some genuinely high praise for the people they work with. Every year I do this, I seem to get so many responses from industry folks which compliment the team they work with every day.

“I am thankful for having a passionate, knowledgeable, forward-thinking, and plain-good, honest people on our team at Synergy Media Group and BrightTree Studios,” said Bill McIntosh, president of Synergy Media Group, in last year’s article.

He, and pretty much every other respondent, went to great lengths to express how much they valued working with their coworkers as one of the primary things they were thankful for. I find that earnestly touching.

“I am thankful for the tight-knit community that is the PSNI Global Alliance; the friendships, mentors, and advisers that have come with the job and truly the friendship of the industry around me,” said Hailey Klein, director of marketing, PSNI Global Alliance.

So please join Bill and Hailey, and consider helping me spread the love, cheer, and thankfulness this year!

Email me at [email protected] with something you’re thankful for this year.
