D-Tools SI 2017 Now Features Customer Portal, Clients Can Approve Items

D-Tools has updated its System Integrator 2017 (SI 2017) project management software platform with new features including a Customer Portal, Quick Quote report and new report theme editor.

The Customer Portal is the biggest addition to the software. It allows users to publish project docs — including proposals, contracts, change orders, drawings, cut sheets, user manuals and other client-facing materials — to the web for clients to see. Clients can comment, accept and sign via e-signature from any Internet-enabled device.

To review, comment and accept (or reject) the documents presented, clients can click on an emailed link and login to a secure web portal. The goal is to expedite client communication and approvals, keep projects moving and ensure that timelines and budgets are met, explains the company

“Like with D-Tools’ Purchasing Portal that allows users to issue POs to vendors and for vendors to comment and accept or reject the PO, the Customer Portal extends that cloud infrastructure by enabling users to share any document created or stored in D-Tools with their clients (and others) for comment and approval,” says Randy Stearns, CEO, D-Tools. “This is a significant leap forward for those who seek direct and efficient communication channels in an increasingly mobile world.”

The SI 2017 update also includes the Quick Quote report, which combines client, project and contract details — like scope of work, pricing and payment terms — into a single, easy-to-read document. D-Tools says this feature is ideal for smaller jobs.

“The new Quick Quote feature is perfect for upgrades, add-ons and/or product-only (i.e. retail) sales to existing (or new) clients,” Stearns adds. “Built as a generic report, it can be easily modified for use as a Change Order, Sales Order, Service Work Order or any transaction that doesn’t warrant an in-depth proposal, detailed scope of work, and formal contract agreement. It is my hope that these two new features will streamline the project workflow process for D-Tools customers worldwide.”

AV-over-IP is gaining tremendous steam in the industry. Are you jumping on the bandwagon?

Lastly D-Tools has provided a new report theme editor, allowing integrators to create custom report themes and choose additional report themes, which were introduced as part of SI 2017. Think branding and customization, like picking colors for headers, footers and fonts.

D-Tools is hosting a webinar to demo the new SI 2017 features on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. PST. Register here.
