As the debate around the future of ‘full’ networking continues to intensify, Audio/Video Bridging (AVB)-supporting organisation the AVnu Alliance has teamed up with CEDIA to host a free webinar for members and non-members on the topic of deploying AVB in the residential custom electronics market.

Readers can register for the free seminar (http://www.cedia.net/events/event-detail-page/2014/07/17/default-calendar/technical-excellence-understanding-audio-video-bridging-webinar), which will take place on July 17 at 1pm ET. It will be presented by Greg Schlechter, CE segment chair of AVnu Alliance, along with other Alliance members.

The session will incorporate an overview and history of AVB and how AVnu certification of AVB devices will allow time-synchronised, multi-room, multi-channel and multi-manufacturer whole home audio streaming in residential installations.

Viewers will find out how to construct a successful AVB network in the home, including issues surrounding interoperability, multi-endpoint/device synchronisation, network capability and home theatre support.

Schlechter told Commercial Integrator Europe: “Our collaboration with CEDIA has been both positive and productive, and we continue discussing even more ways we can work together going forward. Both organisations share the common goal of helping manufacturers and integrators bring the latest AV network technologies to their customers and end users.”
