AVIXA Puts Key AV Topics Front and Center with New Power Hour Series

AVIXA “will explore fundamental pro AV topics” in its upcoming Power Hour webinar series with different tracks focused on audio, conferencing and collaboration, content distribution and media, and smart buildings from January through May 2021.

“AVIXA is committed to providing the best professional resources for the AV community to stay connected and informed,” said AVIXA VP of content creation Pam Taggart.

“With the Power Hour series, AV professionals can tune in each month to learn about the solution they’re monitoring for a session on the latest trends and best practices to grow their skills,” she said.

The Power Hour track focused on smart buildings presented Smart Signage on Jan. 27.

This session examined “the role of digital signage in smart buildings, such as displaying energy consumption information to make building residents more aware of their behaviors, leading to energy and cost savings.

The webinar featured Kevin McDonald of Peerless-AV, Tammuz Dubnov of Zuzor, Martin Fishman from Visionect and Bob Snyder of Channel Media.

More AVIXA Power Hour Sessions

The Power Hour audio track is a master level series that dives deeply into technical audio issues. The session Selecting a Test Signal on Feb. 3 at 1 p.m. EST will discuss the pros and cons of various signal types, including how to select the best test signal for any given audio test.

Panelists include Charlie Hughes of Excelsior Audio, Tony Spica of Audio Precision and GRAS, and Roger Schwenke of Meyer Sound Laboratories.

Corporate technology managers and integrators can get the latest on key developments and trends for the digital workplace in AVIXA’s monthly Conferencing and Collaboration Power Hour.

Troubleshooting Video Conferencing Systems will take place Feb. 8 at 1 p.m. EST and discuss how to determine what is causing a poor conferencing experience, whether it’s the system, room, or user, and quickly zero in on possible ways to fix the problem.

The Content Distribution and Media Power Hour track will help in-house corporate video and event producers learn more about this growing part of the industry.

The session How to Design and Capture for Distribution on Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. EST will focus on the elements for designing the right interface, as well as the sizing and layout of videos for display and streaming.

Presenters include Jason King of WeWork and Deborah Jones from the Queen Elizabeth II Centre.
