Published: 2018-04-05

It’s not like the old days. You can find video walls anywhere now…

  • used by customers of all sizes across all markets
  • displaying different types of content
  • with various goals
  • in all kinds of applications

To achieve these varying strategies there are many ways to build a video wall. Understanding the different approaches is critical to delivering customers the solution that’s right for them, says Samuel Recine, director of sales, America and Asia Pacific, Matrox Graphics.

“[There’s] a broad array of choice for how to build video walls,” he says in a Commercial Integrator video (above). “What I think integrators need to do is be familiar with at least the foundational differences between the different types of solutions that are available.”

Video Walls: Starting on the Right Foot

For integrators it makes sense to put their best foot forward when it comes to video wall offerings.

[related] CI’s recent State of the Digital Signage and Video Wall Markets in 2018 shows that adoption of video walls no longer knows market restrictions. It’s not just museums or retail rolling out big video walls; they’re now used consistently across all verticals that integrators serve.

In terms of how to build those video wall solutions, there “is an abundant of variety and choice,” Recine says.

“Some favor ease-of-installation and are easier to deploy but may have compromises with performance or certain characteristics and features,” Recine says.

“I think it’s incumbent upon integrators to know what they like for their projects, what works for their personal use cases. There are many ways to assemble video walls nowadays.

“Some favor ease-of-installation and are easier to deploy but may have compromises with performance or certain characteristics and features.

Others are a little bit more involved but can provide a richer pallet of things that you can do with video walls and there are different types of video wall solutions out there.”

In the video interview with Commercial Integrator, Recine breaks down different options that integrators have for building customers’ video walls.
