Almo Professional A/V has officially opened its Almo Global office in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., taking another important step in establishing Almo and the brands it distributes around the world.
The new office is the division headquarters for Almo’s Global Business team, and also serves as the main office for the Almo Hospitality and Almo New Business groups.

The Almo Global Business Team plans to establish a presence in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia first, then build from there. The team is an outbound sales team that visits customers throughout the world to understand the unique needs of each location. Every team member is fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, or both.
“Since our acquisition of IAVI in May 2016, our business has expanded worldwide, which has facilitated the need for an Almo Global business team as well as additional teams in the areas of hospitality and new business,” said Almo executive VP and COO Sam Taylor in the announcement. “The investment of this new space gives us the ability to grow these business areas and better serve the needs of our partners around the globe.”
The new office features more than 5,200 square feet of work space, enough for about 50 employees. The energy-efficient LED lighting and the ergonomic workstations and guest credenzas are designed to encourage an open work environment. The large windows in the atrium lobby and common spaces filter in natural light and provide treetop views of the south Florida landscape.
The new office also includes a spacious board room and two additional huddle spaces, all outfitted with the latest collaboration tools. In addition to the Almo Global, Hospitality and New Business teams, the Ft. Lauderdale location will be home to members of Almo’s purchasing, marketing and inside sales groups.
“Our main focus right now is to establish the [Almo] brand internationally and become an added-value distributor,” says Almo Global Business Team director of global sales JC Delgado. The effort will start mainly in Latin America, also touching Europe and Asia.
“We are solidifying our relationships with the top customer partners in each vertical market and in every country we reach to become the same reliable source for specialized product, technical expertise, competitive pricing, managed services, training, and unsurpassed customer support outside of the U.S.,” says Delgado.

“Distributors play a big role in the chain,” he says. “There’s a need for more options. Customers are more educated than they ever have been and companies that have never been outside the U.S. are getting that additional exposure. What’s made Almo so successful in the U.S. is having those personal relationships, so we have to build that same thing wherever we go with this Global Business Team.”
The new Almo Global office opening comes on the heels of parent company Almo’s recent expansion of its corporate headquarters in Philadelphia. The 7,000 square-foot, energy-efficient second story addition expands the office capacity by approximately 65 employees.
“There’s a lot of room for growth,” says Delgado. “There are a lot of emerging markets in Latin America and Asia that we see as having great potential.”
