[related]Now it all makes sense. CI recently did a long-form interview with two Almo business development managers — Rob Ziv, director of business development; and Steve Alexander, its new audio business development manager – and both described careers with deep audiophile-level AV experience. Almo Pro A/V clearly wants to leverage its in-house audio expertise because today it announces its Sound Options audio sourcing and engineering group.
As Almo Professional A/V puts it in a press release, Sound Options includes mics, speakers, DSPs, mixers and specialty applications — all the favorite product brands while providing the audio-specific sales, technical and engineering expertise needed to complete a smart and successful AV installation.
Sound Options makes its debut at the Almo E4 AV Tour in Dallas on April 24.
Indeed, Ziv and Alexander will lead the Sound Options group.
Sound Options: Why the Focus on Audio?
“The time is right,” Melody Craigmyle, VP of marketing, recently told CI of Sound Options. “We’re getting the right lineup of partners under that Sound Options umbrella. Dealers are going to be really, really happy that they’re going to have a place to source the product that they love. Secondly, they’re going to have the technical support from the Almo team on how to tackle projects.”

With the proliferation of video, audio has a tendency to take a back seat in the pro A/V market. Savvy integrators, however, know that allowing that to happen doesn’t serve the customer well.
“Our customers know us for purchasing display products but the most important part of the install is the sound – if the audio is not operational, the whole installation is in trouble,” says Ziv, in the press release.
He adds that with 20-plus featured brands and access to dozens more, “if an Almo partner doesn’t see their favorite brand listed, all they have to do is ask and we can source it for them.
In fact, sourcing those obscure, uncommon products is a service we offer. In addition, we can answer technical questions in-house and we have a direct line to all the audio manufacturers.”
Sound Options audio categories include:
- Amplifiers
- Assistive Listening
- Conferencing
- Control
- DSP
- Recording, Playback and Streaming
- Microphones
- Mixers
- Speakers
- Simultaneous Interpretation
- Unified Collaboration
Some of the featured brands available through Sound Options include Revolution Acoustics, Tascam, BSS, Kramer, AMX, Atlas, Phoenix, Taiden, DBX, JBL, Crown, Ashly Audio, Beyerdynamic, Biamp and more.
“Audio is a very personal choice for integrators,” says Almo Pro A/V’s Sam Taylor.
“We understand that audio is a very personal choice for integrators and that most have a preferred brand, which is why Sound Options stocks and sources the industry’s favorite pro audio lines,” says Sam Taylor, executive vice president and COO for Almo Professional A/V, in the press release.
“Sound Options is the experienced and trusted resource for everything pro audio. With more than 70 combined years of real-world audio expertise, this group is dedicated to helping incorporate an audio system that works flawlessly as part of a complete AV installation for everything from a collaboration room to a mega church.
“Streamlining through Almo rather than setting up a new account with every supplier ultimately saves time and money with the added benefit of superior service and technical support.”
