The new Leyard Planar LED MultiTouch is an touch-enabled video wall, providing a smooth, light-weight touch surface with Leyard PLTS (Pliable LED Touch Surface) technology. The MultiTouch offers a touch experience for LED video walls up to 196” diagonal with high resolution 1.2 millimeter pixel pitch.

VP of product management for Leyard Planar Steve Seminario says the interactive video wall offers 32 simultaneous points of touch.

“The MultiTouch video wall is ideal for any collaborative application where you need a large, seamless wall,” Seminario says. It comes in pitches of 1.2- down to 0.9-millimeters.

Leyard Planar also debuted the 0.7 mm pixel pitch LED video wall and the new Leyard Reality Studio. The latter demonstration was comprised of 3 LED videowalls, an LED floor, a studio camera and opti-track motion-tracking cameras. The result is a virtual simulation environment for studios in need of accurate perspective, 3D, and the opportunity for augmented reality. The talent on such a stage has real-time visual cues for what they are broadcast against.

More from the company about the Leyard Reality Studio:

Traditional stitching or alignment of LED displays into multi-display configurations may align the image and choreograph content across the display surfaces, but it does not alter the content for perspective. This can cause 3D objects to appear warped, twisted, stretched or flat. Leyard’s unique 3D Suture technology, developed by Dahooo, a Leyard company, includes special positioning to display content with spatial perspective effects. When combined with high quality 3D models, the scene does not appear digital to the viewer, but real. Viewers think they are seeing 250 feet or 400 kilometers into the distance, instead of at a set made up of LED video walls in close proximity.
