While our 2019 State of the Industry report showed that growth in the industry is up overall, there was a huge contrast in terms of how many integrators reported having managed AV services.
That’s a shame, since that same report predicts possible hard times for those without recurring revenue at the end of 2019.
“If you can have over 20 percent of your revenue under a service agreement with a client, that’s a healthy place to be,” he says.
On Episode 47 of AV+…
- Chuck Wilson of the NSCA and CI editor-in-chief Tom LeBlanc talk about the topic NO ONE wants to talk about (but one that will determine the fate of many small-to-medium-sized integration firms in the next few years
- Chuck establishes a good rule of thumb for what percentage of an integrator’s revenue should be dedicated to managed AV services

The Commercial Integrator Podcast
The phrase ‘pro AV’ doesn’t do justice to all of the integration crowd, so we at Commercial Integrator wanted to create a podcast that speaks to all of those areas (and more!) under the umbrella of commercial tech integration.
The host, web editor Adam Forziati, has a background in radio and is looking forward to providing listeners with an entertaining, informative audio forum for all topics affecting the industry.
Podcast Release Schedule
We plan to release a shorter, single-topic episode once every week or two on Fridays (just like this episode). But at the end of each month, we’ll also drop a longer, in-depth episode of the AV podcast with features like Editor’s Desk, CI Monthly News Spotlight, CI’s Project of the Month, and more.
We hope you’ll share your thoughts on Twitter using the hashtag #AVPlusPod !
