How Kramer VIA Enables Distance Learning

Published: 2020-10-09

Matt Kopin of Kramer joins us this time for another edition of CI 3 Questions all about their VIA line of distance learning-compatible products.

Commercial Integrator: Have you seen any differences throughout how distance learning has been implemented throughout the pandemic?

Matt Kopin: The pandemic has really forced people to deal with meeting and teaching environments in ways they never had to before. We’ve had to reinvent many of our products to match those needs.

CI: How did you have to evolve your products?

Matt Kopin: Our cornerstone product VIA has given customers ways to break down physical barriers in workspaces without dealing with being on the same network. This family of products integrate with Zoom, Teams, etc. and did so before the pandemic.

But before the pandemic, we integrated VIA Verso, which allows USB peripherals in meeting spaces to be utilized in video conferences.

Having meetings in classrooms to wirelessly display content and leverage USB cameras/mics to allow those within the call to feel like they’re sitting in the same space.

They no longer have to rely on the camera or mics in the laptops.

CI: When integrators choose VIA, how do they know which is best?

MK: Rather than offer a one-size-fits-all solution, we offer a family of products. We hope integrators’ needs analysis and budgets allow them to pick and choose which products work best for their needs.

Regardless of the specific model they choose, any meeting space can work similarly. Our website provides better clarification between specific models, making it as easy as possible to choose between them.
