Yorktel announces that it has obtained ISO 27001 certification of its information security management system (ISMS), supporting and provisioning Yorktel’s 24×7 Managed and Cloud Service to its customers, as well as prevailing managed information technology services best practices including people, processes, and facilities services.

The certification was performed by Brightline, an ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) accredited Certification Body based in the United States. The details of the Eatontown, N.J.-based integrator’s ISMS certification can be viewed here.

More from Yorktel’s press release:

“ISO 27001 certification is essential for cloud and managed services provider partners whose enterprises clientele must mitigate risk in every way possible. This achievement assures our customers with the highest level third-party validation of Yorktel’s security protocols from strategic planning to day-to-day operations, and proven ability to trust that their vital information is being held in a secure, properly managed environment,” said Yorktel Vice President of Engineering and Chief Information Security Officer, Frankie Escribano.

A globally recognized standard for the establishment and certification of an information security management system (ISMS), ISO 27001 specifies the requirements for establishing, implementing, operating, monitoring, reviewing, maintaining and improving a documented ISMS within the context of the organization’s overall business risks. It sets forth a risk-based approach that focuses on adequate and proportionate security controls that protect information assets and give confidence to interested parties.
