Everyone might now be home from ISE 2023 in Barcelona, but the show’s effects continue to reverberate throughout our industry. To be sure, #avtweeps are excited about new products and technology advancements, but the ISE show also emphasized other key issues. One of those is diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), a topic that seems to be foremost in the minds of industry stakeholders. Women in AV/IT (WAVIT), a recently launched organization of some of our industry’s most powerful women, is helping drive the conversation.
These trends inspired Dan Ferrisi, editor-in-chief of Commercial Integrator, to chat with two powerful women in the AV industry during ISE 2023. Effi Goren-Goldstein, marketing director, Valens, is also marketing chair with the HDBaseT Alliance. Meanwhile, Gina Sansivero, vice president of marketing and corporate communications, AtlasIED, is also a founding board member of WAVIT. During this 10-minute chat, they explore why amplifying women’s voices, and creating a more equitable industry.
