Lencore at InfoComm 2019: Soundmasking, Mass Notification and Code Compliance

Published: 2019-06-05

Lencore is very focused on helping integrators with soundmasking and mass notification solutions and those priorities will be very much on display at Lencore’s InfoComm 2019 booth No. 3061.

“We’ve never been more excited for InfoComm than we are for InfoComm 2019,” says VP of marketing David Smith in a Commercial Integrator video. “We’ve got an amazing alignment of products coming out.”

Of course those products tackle both soundmasking and mass notification.

Lencore Soundmasking at InfoComm 2019

“We have a new out-of-the box, off-the-shelf type of solution that we can offer on the soundmasking side that allows you to expand your soundmasking platform and really create some efficiency from an installation standpoint,” Smith says.

Lencore’s i.Net Engineered System Solution uniquely addresses the proper requirements for sound masking, paging, and audio for today’s facilities, according to the company. Meanwhile, i.Net now offers a solution that meets the UL 2572 standard to interface with the Fire Alarm Control Panel (FACP), in order to shutdown or mute the sound masking, in the event of a fire emergency. Moreover, i.Net is capable of reinforcing the fire alarm annunciation for a more intelligible message. Muting or shutting down the sound masking is a requirement of NFPA 72 (2010 code and beyond) and the ADA. A product must meet the UL 2572 standard to interface with a FACP.

Lencore Mass Notification at InfoComm 2019

“From the mass notification side not only are we demonstrating our n.FORM mass notification system,” Smith says, “but we’re also introducing a new talkback communicator that is ideal for k-12 applications, health care, airports. On top of that we’re got some really cool software that we’re introducing for what we call field alert, our ability to create ways to communicate with a variety of parties whether it’s texting, tweeting, providing audio, digital signage — we can even provide a prerecorded skype video if that’s something the client might be interested in.”

Along the lines of talking to InfoComm 2019 attendees about mass notification, Lencore intends to hammer the point that “code compliance isn’t optional,” Smith says in the video.

“We’ve got a lot to show,” Smith says. “We’re super excited about InfoComm 2019 and we want everybody to stop by to see what we’ve got to offer.”
