Achtung! AVI-SPL Is Expanding to Germany

Published: 2016-09-27

The AV integration industry’s largest integration firm is getting bigger … and more global.

When AVI-SPL and its $577 million in annual revenue were acquired in April 2016 by an affiliate of H.I.G. Capital, a global private equity firm that manages more than $19 billion in equity capital, the industry paid attention. How would the new financial muscle be leveraged by AVI-SPL and its new partner?

We now know that AVI-SPL is focused on global expansion because today it announces its official expansion into Germany.

CEO John Zettel flew to Germany to finalize the deal following AVI-SPL Technology Day Seattle last week. AVI-SPL is responding to global enterprise demand for organization standardization, according to a press release which adds that integration firm will support enterprise customers in Germany by designing, building, and integrating standardized solutions to enhance organization communication, collaboration, and productivity.

Although AVI-SPL has already commenced operations in Germany, it intends to move into its Frankfurt office on November 1. The press release indicates that AVI-SPL Germany will fully supporting global enterprise customers in the area and provide German-speaking assistance with its 24-hour help desk and field services, as well as a virtual network operations center (VNOC) to support its full portfolio of video managed services in Germany.

German native Johannes Stehr, formerly of Crestron, is general manager of AVI-SPL’s German operations.

“AVI-SPL is the missing piece of the puzzle customers in Germany are looking for – high quality installation and services from a global perspective,” said Stehr. “I’m excited to bring this immense opportunity to our customers within the country and around the world.
