Peerless-AV Shows ‘World’s Thinnest Video Wall Mount’

By shrinking a video wall’s footprint to 1.87 inches from a wall, Peerless-AV says it’s expanding the market.

At 1.87 inches, Peerless-AV calls its SmartMount DS-VW755S video wall mount the world’s thinnest and says it allow for ultra-thin display video walls that protrude no farther than 4 inches from the wall, making it ADA compliant.

The thin video wall mount, which is being unveiled at InfoComm 2014,  is an important launch for Peerless-AV, says Nick Belcore, executive VP, because “there are many applications where it’s cost prohibitive to recess to a wall or inadequate ventilation.”

As video walls have come down in price more clients want them, but that doesn’t mean their space easily accommodates them. The SmartMount, Belcore says, helps integrators to expand their prospective video wall customers by “giving them the ability to go on a wall.”

It was a priority for Peerless-AV to achieve the “thinnest” video wall system, he adds, because “it gives them the most ability to deploy. The less they need to worry about the depth of the mount the more than can focus on their client’s best solution.”

Indeed, Peerless-AV is seeing the market for video walls expanding. “That’s why we launched the product,” Belcore says.

“Based on the response we got from [a press release on SmartMount issued May 19], I’d say there is huge demand for on-wall video walls that meet the ADA requirement [to be] less than 4 inches from the wall.”
