Earlier this month, news broke of Avidex’s acquisition of CCS New England, a highly respected audiovisual systems integrator with a strong presence in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. This strategic union is set to enhance innovation and service excellence for clients across the Northeast, combining CCS New England’s established regional reputation with Avidex’s national scale and advanced service capabilities. The acquisition aligns with Avidex’s broader growth strategy to expand its footprint in key U.S. markets and better serve its enterprise, education, healthcare and government clientele.

To understand the vision behind this pivotal development, we spoke with Avidex CEO Jeff Davis about the opportunities this partnership creates for both companies and their customers.

Commercial Integrator: How long have Avidex and CCS New England been in conversation about a possible acquisition? Over how many months did the deal unfold, and what spurred the conversation initially?

Jeff Davis:  We initiated conversation close to 12 months ago. Avidex was looking to expand geographically in the Northeast and CCS New England was on our radar. Their reputation in the market was exceptional, and, on the surface, it appeared they could be a good potential fit. As we engaged in initial conversations, it became apparent that from a cultural and values-driven perspective, they were exactly what we were looking for.

CI: Is there a cultural and values alignment between Avidex and CCS New England? If so, explain the harmoniousness of your respective culture and values.

The company cultures between Avidex and CCS New England were very similar, and we share the same values around teamwork, integrity, innovation, passion for our customers, commitment to the quality of work we deliver, and accountability. As we engaged the leadership team beyond the co-founders, Cheryl & Chris, these shared values became even clearer.

CI: What will be the immediate impact for CCS New England clients and employees? Is the entire CCS New England employee base being retained?

Davis: Our goal is to maintain the entirety of the CCS New England team. Given that this is a somewhat new geography for Avidex, there is no redundancy of positions, so we will look to retain all of the team and actually grow the team.

CI: Why does this acquisition make business sense for Avidex? What gap does CCS New England help to fill? What capabilities and growth opportunities will adding CCS New England unlock?

Davis: While Avidex has a number of longstanding customers in New England in our healthcare vertical, we have not had a dedicated field organization on the ground there, so we relied on our PSNI partners and subcontractor network. With this acquisition, we now have a large and experienced team in place to support regional business growth, not just in healthcare but in SLED and enterprise as well..

CI: What about existing strategic relationships with vendors and suppliers? How will those existing relationships fold into the united organization?

Davis: 90% of the CCS New England vendors are already current vendor partners of Avidex, which makes for an easy transition. The remainder of the existing vendors that were unique to CCS New England, will be maintained, and they are excited for the expanded opportunities that this transaction provides for them.

CI: On that topic, will the united organization fall solely under the Avidex brand, or will CCS New England remain as a wholly owned branded entity?

Davis: Over time, the CCS New England brand will sunset and be entirely rebranded under the Avidex flag.

CI: What does continuing consolidation and M&A activity mean for the AV industry at large? Is this net-positive for the industry community and, if so, in what ways?

Davis: Our view is that consolidation is a net positive for our industry. As we scale, companies like Avidex can provide more growth opportunities for new and existing employees, we can invest more in people and tools to help drive innovation, and we garner more attention and recognition in the marketplace, be it from prospective new clients, technology providers, or new talent.

CI: What 2026 initiatives are you most excited about? Why do you expect 2026 to be a great year for your organization?

Davis: We are excited to start the new year with Avidex New England fully integrated into a bigger and bolder Avidex!
