CI New Revenue Madness: Digital Signage vs. Networked AV

Published: 2016-03-16

In our first matchup in CI’s 2016 New Revenue Madness, we pitted content creation against drones to see which source integrators, manufacturers and others in the industry believe has the most potential to boost your bottom line this year and beyond.

Then, collaboration took on managed services in our other 1 vs. 4 battle to name the champion of making you money and helping your customers enjoy better solutions.

This time, we send digital signage against networked AV in our first 2 vs. 3 battle of CI New Revenue Madness. Let’s find out more about our contenders.

As those at this week’s Digital Signage Expo in Las Vegas—or fans of AV-themed rap songs—can tell you, digital signage is pretty much everywhere these days. What started as a way for retailers to truly stand out in the crowd has become a ubiquitous approach to advertising and getting important messages to the people who need it most. But, as commonplace as it’s become, there’s still more growth potential.

Networked AV, such as streaming video and IPTV, was part of the discussion of hot technologies and their potential to take hold in the future at the 2015 CI Summit. It’s one of the important next steps in the process of AV/IT convergence, which many say has taken hold. There are definitely security concerns when you’re talking about content on the network, but there are interesting opportunities to expand what’s available too.

Vote in our comments section or in our Twitter poll and we’ll reveal the results next week.
