AVI-SPL, the global provider of digital enablement solutions, has made significant advancements in its environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy. Over the past year the company transitioned from setting aspirational goals to implementing a fully integrated ESG operating system. This system embeds sustainability into core business operations aiming to deliver measurable outcomes and position ESG as a key market differentiator.
The shift is designed to help enterprise customers achieve their sustainability targets more efficiently and consistently. Despite regional slowdowns in regulatory momentum global enterprises are increasingly prioritizing sustainability. However many struggle to translate ESG ambitions into actionable strategies due to challenges like fragmented data, organizational silos and complex supply chains.
With expertise at the intersection of technology, infrastructure and global delivery AVI-SPL has made scalable sustainable execution a priority for both its own operations and its customers.
“Enterprise customers need partners who can execute sustainability at scale,” says Dale Bottcher, chief revenue officer at AVI-SPL. “By embedding ESG into how we operate day to day, we’ve built a model that helps customers reduce risk, improve efficiency, and make measurable progress toward their sustainability goals, directly through how their technology is designed, delivered, and supported.”
AVI-SPL Embeds ESG into Operations with New Sustainability-Focused Initiatives
At the core of this transformation is a cross-functional ESG operating system that touches every part of the enterprise:
- Operations & Real Estate: AVI-SPL reduced its global real estate footprint by 4% and implemented a hub-and-spoke Quality Control Center (QCC) model, improving deployment speed and consistency while lowering emissions.
- Supply Chain & Logistics: Route optimization and operational efficiencies cut fuel use by 17% in the U.S., reducing Scope 1 emissions. AI-driven demand planning enhanced inbound logistics, lowering upstream Scope 3 emissions, while shipment consolidation through QCCs reduced downstream impacts, shrinking embedded carbon without disrupting customer workflows.
- Customer Enablement: New Eco-Friendly Reference Designs help customers make lower-impact technology choices. Nationwide Electronics Recycling Services offer responsible end-of-life management and transparent reporting for retired AV and UC equipment, with expansion to the EU and UK planned for 2026.
- People-Powered Execution: ESG integration is reinforced through a global Green Team of employee volunteers, expanded inclusive hiring practices, and community engagement programs such as Gives Back Month, all creating a culture of sustainability.
- Carbon & Data Integrity: AVI-SPL achieved reductions in Scope 1 and 2 emissions and significantly enhanced Scope 3 data precision by integrating product carbon footprint (PCF) data from major suppliers, laying the groundwork for Science Based Target setting and improved customer reporting.
- Governance & Trust: Strengthened governance includes an expanded Global Supplier Code of Conduct with monitoring, SOC 2 Type II certification, global ethics training, climate risk assessment, and the launch of an enterprise AI governance framework, ensuring consistent oversight at scale.
These initiatives mark a strategic shift for AVI-SPL, integrating ESG directly into its operating model. By embedding sustainability into its processes and service delivery, the company aims to help enterprise customers achieve their goals more efficiently and with reduced risk, positioning ESG execution as a mutual competitive advantage.
