Grimani Systems, provider of high-performance audio solutions, announced the MP-84 MiniPort, a premium two-way, bi-amplified active ceiling speaker that delivers sound with virtually zero visual intrusion. Per the statement, the MP-84 MiniPort speaker will debut at CEDIA Expo 2025 in Denver from Sept. 4 to 6, 2025, where company founder Anthony Grimani will also receive the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award.
The MP-84 MiniPort pairs an 8-inch woofer with a 2-inch tweeter housed in a precision aluminum enclosure. It delivers 106dB SPL and a full-range 40Hz–20kHz bandwidth from a discreet flush-mount format, says the company. The rigid enclosure minimizes resonance and enhances durability, outperforming typical molded plastic designs. The MP-84 MiniPort speaker also features interchangeable 4-inch round or square magnetic grilles that blend seamlessly into any décor. According to the company, this ensures that the speaker remains architecturally unobtrusive.
Main Features of MP-84 MiniPort
Each MP-84 MiniPort is driven by a dedicated 300W outboard amplifier, which includes a DSP-controlled digital crossover and room EQ. The MP-84 architecture provides phase-coherent transitions, accurate imaging and optimized tonal balance across diverse spaces. The MP-84 MiniPort’s wide dispersion technology ensures consistent coverage across large listening areas, eliminating hot spots and dead zones. The result is a uniform, immersive listening experience with audiophile clarity, dynamic headroom and deep bass extension, the company states.
“The MP-84 MiniPort rivals high-end floor standing systems while disappearing into the ceiling,” remarks Anthony Grimani, founder of Grimani Systems. “We designed it to give integrators a reliable, precision-calibrated solution and to give customers reference-quality performance without compromise.”
For integrators, the MP-84 delivers operational efficiency and peace of mind with over-IP calibration, diagnostics and 24/7 monitoring. The MP-84 MiniPort’s advanced features allow remote fine-tuning, proactive performance assurance and reduced on-site service calls. According to the company, the MP-84 is tailored for luxury residential and commercial installations, from dedicated theaters and media lounges to whole-home distributed music systems.
Alongside the MP-84’s introduction, Anthony Grimani will receive the CEDIA Lifetime Achievement Award for his decades of innovation, leadership and education in the industry.
Per the company, Grimani’s impact spans more than 40 years, including pioneering work in surround sound at Dolby, creating the Home THX program and founding PMI Engineering and Grimani Systems. Since 1990, he has been a fixture at CEDIA Expo, teaching and mentoring thousands of integrators to raise the bar for system design and performance worldwide.
