Editor’s Note: This article featuring Gina Sansivero and her 2025 reflections is part of Commercial Integrator’s series that will run throughout the month of December. In this series, we’ll highlight 2025 reflections from some of the industry’s most notable luminaries.
As the pro AV industry reflects on the year 2025, it’s clear that this has been a period of both growth and transformation. To gain deeper insights into the trends, challenges and opportunities that have shaped the industry, Commercial Integrator turned to Gina Sansivero, VP, marketing & corporate communications at AtlasIED.
Gina Sansivero 2025 Reflections
Sansivero highlights 2025 as a transformative year for pro AV, marked by strong global partnerships, creative solutions to tariff challenges and significant progress in empowering women through organizations like WAVIT and Rise AV. These developments underscore the industry’s focus on collaboration, adaptability, and diversification at all levels.
Commercial Integrator: What kind of year has 2025 been for the pro AV industry?
Gina Sansivero: I think 2025 has been a year of strong partnerships. From the growth and expansion of organizations like PSNI that enable high quality global deployments at scale, to expanded ecosystem partnership programs that encourage advanced, reliable interoperability, to refueled reliance on activities that prioritize client and end user feedback as an integral part of the product and service offering development. This year saw our community come together deliberately and in more productive and diverse ways.
CI: What has been the most surprising development in the pro AV industry this year?
Sansivero: I was pleasantly surprised at how well and quickly the industry adapted to and then weathered the tariff situation earlier in the year. While challenging, the industry took it in stride and found sustainable and creative ways to continue building business. I know a lot of companies and individuals struggled, but as a whole, the industry was able to react nimbly and develop options for clients that worked within budget constraints and product availability.
CI: What has been the most important change we’ve seen this year in pro AV?
Sansivero: Organizations like Women in AV/IT (WAVIT), Women in Security Forum (WISF), and Rise AV have made important strides recruiting, retaining, advancing and empowering women in the industry. WAVIT’s mentoring program continues to grow, and, with affiliate relationships with organizations like ETC, expand its reach. Rise AV’s mentorship program expanded into APAC with a new cohort beginning this fall. Overall, these groups help support much-needed diversification in the industry, especially at the leadership level. A big thank you to Commercial Integrator for always holding room for women’s voices in their publication.
