NSCA is now accepting applications and nominations for its second annual Excellence in Product Innovation Awards, to be presented at the 2016 Business and Leadership Conference in February.
Integrators may submit nominations for products that had a significant effect on their installations, and industry manufacturers may nominate their own products. Any manufacturer that produces low-voltage products for installation by integrators in the commercial space is eligible.
One winner will be named in each of the following categories, along with one overall Grand Prize Winner:
- Installer-Friendly
- Interoperability
- Retrofit-Friendly
- New Revenue Potential
- Recurring Revenue Potential
- Ease of Customization

- Stand-alone recognition in Building Connections (NSCA’s print quarterly newsletter)
- Feature recognition within the Product Showcase on the NSCA website

- Feature article in Commercial Integrator magazine
Judging
The judging panel will include an editor from Commercial Integrator magazine, the executive director of NSCA and representatives from four systems integration companies.
Judges will consider how the product fares in terms of scalability, versatility, deployment cost, ease of use, ROI, ADA compliance, energy efficiency, and other user experience variables.
How Can I Enter?
Entries are being accepted through January 15, 2016. Winners will be announced at NSCA’s 18th annual Business & Leadership Conference’s Welcome Dinner on February 25, 2016, in Dallas.
For NSCA members, the first product entry is $299 (subsequent entries are $199 each). For non-members, the first product entry is $499 (subsequent entries are $399 each). Products submitted for consideration must be announced by February 1, 2016, and must be available for sale and shipment on or before April 1, 2016.
