Mackie Redesigns SRM450 & SRM350 Powered Speakers

Audio company Mackie has refreshed its popular powered speakers through the addition of its latest digital amplification suite of tools.

Mackie is a well-known and established manufacturer of professional audio systems.

The Skinny: Updating its popular SRM450 and SRM350 powered speakers, the Woodinville, Wash.-based manufacturer has announced the latest versions of these products.

The Specs: Mackie says the products now incorporate the company’s latest digital audio technology that includes 1,000-watt amplifiers and digital sound-shaping tools.

“The original SRM450 was the first active, portable loudspeaker and today [it] is still the most recognized speaker out there,” comments Greg Young, product manager, Mackie. “SRM has always meant pro performance and sound quality at an incredible price. The new SRM450 and SRM350 continue this legacy. [They] offer improved power, sound quality and flexible tools perfect for any gig.”

Some of the speakers’ audio tools include the ability to select specific application modes that voices the speakers for that exact requirement, and an intelligent feedback destroyer that identifies and eliminates feedback by applying as many as four narrow 1/16th octave filters.

“Never before has this level of SRM power, sound quality and ease of use been available in such a portable design,” adds Young. “The power of SRM is now accessible to more people than ever before.”

Solutions: The newly redesigned SRM powered speakers can be installed into a variety of environments that range from school auditoriums to houses of worship.
