Last month, one of the most packed sessions on the Almo Professional A/V E4 AV Tour focused on the hot topic of outsourcing through qualified 3rd party services.
“May the (Work) Force Be With You,” led by Tom Stimson, past president of InfoComm International explored the importance of outsourcing to a scalable integration dealer model and how to adjust process flow to allow 3rd party services to become a highly profitable part of a business.
This session is back by popular demand and will run as a webinar (worth 1.0 InfoComm CTS RU) on Thurs. Nov. 12 and Thurs. Dec. 3 at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.
“In the early days, we sold magic but then we fell into the commoditized business,” explained Stimson. “When you get a big job you grow but can’t take care of other customers. Then when that big job is over you have to rebuild your business again. If you’re going to grow your business, you have to sell beyond capacity. Quality is not proprietary. But there are high quality folks who can help you.”
Stimson cited elements of an integrator’s business that can be outsourced, such as content creation, installation, bandwidth, sales, transportation, design, logistics and customer service to name a few.
The session, which generated quite a buzz on the E4 tour, delves into the idea of selling more than just products and materials, and instead focused on using 3rd party services to help sell an outcome. It incorporates information on why and how to outsource to grow your business, how to get started and the long-term benefits of implementing an outsourcing model.
