Zigen Launches ‘The Buffer’ HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2 Corrector & Advanced EDID Manager

Published: 2015-11-10

Zigen is a provider of 4K Ultra High Definition HDMI connectivity solutions. Just before the residential system trade show CEDIA Expo 2015, Zigen announced the release of the ZIG-BF HDMI 2.0 HDCP 2.2 Corrector and Advanced EDID Manager.

Also known as “The Buffer,” the ZIG-BF has a WebOS interface and is built for system integrators to solve the problem of HDCP compatibility as new 4K UHD content comes to market. The product is a 4K/60 4:4:4 600MHz 18Gbps capable device supported by supporting the max bandwidth and data transfer rate of the HDMI 2.0 standard.

The ZIG-BF provides a path for HDCP 2.2 content to play on ANY 4K UHD display, saving integrators “time, money and the headache of explaining why the [display] you sold to your customer doesn’t work,” according to the company.

The ZIG-BF is capable of connecting any HDCP revision source to any HDCP revision sink device. Additionally, this includes repeaters like AVRs and Matrix Switches that have both sink and source.

FEATURED REPORT

If you’ve ever connected a UHD Satellite STB, Sony FMP-X10 UHD player or NVidia Shield UHD Netflix account and got the message: “This TV does not support HDCP 2.2. Make sure you have HDCP 2.2 capable TV,” or something similar, The Buffer is responsible for making sure you never see such a message again.
