Planar is one of the most successful manufacturers in the commercial video market, and not too long ago the company expanded its line of matrix video wall solutions.
The Skinny: The newly announced additions bolster the company’s Clarity Series of Matrix LCD Video Wall System products with new 46- and 55-inch versions that incorporate the company’s G2 architecture, which CI explored earlier this year.
Planar states the 46-inch product delivers 800 nits of brightness, while the 55-inch model provides up to 500 nits of brightness, and the thin-bezel products offer a tiled bezel width of just 3.7mm for an almost seamless appearance.
“Customer reaction to Clarity Matrix with G2 Architecture has been incredibly positive,” says Jennifer Davis, vice president of marketing at Planar Systems. “The addition of new Clarity Matrix models with smaller tiled bezel width gives Planar the broadest product offering in the LCD video wall category and opens up new applications for our high-performance technology.”
The Portland, Ore.-based manufacturer adds the products eliminate the need for AC power outlets behind the display through their output power and electronics, and it points out that the products’ video signal transmission capabilities support source components placement up to 500 feet away from video walls.
Solutions:Planar says the Clarity LCD Matrix products can be used in mission critical environments such as control rooms or in locations where digital signage is required.
