Twenty years ago, Kevin Henneman sat across from NBC’s head of procurement, eager to understand how his systems integration company was perceived. He had just lost a bid and, driven by a desire to improve, asked a simple but revealing question:

“When you hear our name, what do you think of?”
The executive leaned back, paused, and with a shrug, replied, “Well, you guys make good wires.”

For Henneman, it was humbling, even frustrating, to hear his company’s hard work and dedication reduced to such a narrow impression. But it was also a turning point.

“I realized that’s what they needed at the time — good, reliable, high-quality installations,” Henneman reflects. “But we had so much more to offer.”

Over the years, he’s worked tirelessly to redefine that perception, transforming KMH Integration into a trusted partner known for innovation, collaboration and expertise far beyond just “good wires.”

KMH Integration’s Full-Service Solutions

Founded in 2005, by President Kevin Henneman, KMH Integration, is a full-service systems integration and technology company serving industries such as broadcast, media and entertainment, sports, financial services, education and enterprise.

Headquartered in Brooklyn’s Industry City, with an engineering and fabrication facility in Hauppauge, N.Y., KMH has built a client roster that includes the New York Giants, NBC Sports, The Wall Street Journal, JPMorgan Chase, News 12, and The New York Post — to name a few.

The company operates out of three New York locations and Los Angeles, with a growing team of 40 employees. Recent additions include former New York Giants executive Don Sperling and former NFL executive Dave Shaw. KMH’s service offerings range from project management and system design to managed and creative services and ongoing support, KMH has doubled its scale in the last two years while staying at the forefront of innovation, including testing the latest media protocols like IPMX to meet the evolving demands of its clients.

The firm has evolved beyond traditional system design and installation, expanding its team to include experts in content creation, management and strategy. With certifications on augmented and virtual platforms like Disguise, Seventh Sense and Zero Density, KMH now collaborates with clients to ensure their systems are fully optimized and deliver real value.

KMH prides itself as a trusted partner helping clients navigate the overwhelming landscape of modern technology. “Our customers used to come to us with tight specs and clear plans,” explains Henneman. “[But now] they are juggling day-to-day operations while trying to keep up with competitors and new innovations, and that’s where we come in.”

Henneman and his team sit down with clients to understand their goals, physical spaces, and long-term media strategies — whether it’s growing in linear distribution or podcasting. “Before we even talk about AR platforms or cameras, we ask, ‘What are you trying to accomplish?’” he says. By combining this consultative approach with technology insights, KMH helps clients make informed decisions and present impactful solutions to their leadership teams.

Going Beyond the Traditional Integrator Model

“I started KMH Integration to fill a gap I noticed in the industry, particularly for smaller or more specialized projects. It wasn’t just about the size of the projects, but the type of support customers needed,” Henneman says. “I wanted to create a company that could go beyond the traditional integrator model.”

He explains, “Many customers would come back after a project was completed, needing help connecting the system to other parts of their workflow or seeking guidance on how to optimize their setup. I saw an opportunity to offer more — to be a long-term partner for our clients.”

Henneman states, “At KMH Integration, we aim to understand what our customers are doing as media organizations and where they want to go. We provide not just integration services but also consultation and guidance on equipment choices, room layouts and overall workflow optimization. My goal was to build a company that supports clients beyond the initial project, helping them achieve their long-term goals as a trusted technical partner.”

Bridging Talent and Technology to Shape the Future of Media Production

KMH Integration helps bridge the gap in the media production industry by collaborating with local educational institutions to identify and develop talent with modern, versatile skill sets. As the industry shifts toward software-driven solutions, the need for multi-skilled operators who can handle everything from camera switching to audio and lighting adjustments has grown.

A prime example is KMH’s work with New York Post, where they helped design a flexible production setup and even identified a candidate with unique hands-on experience. This hire has since excelled, showcasing the importance of finding adaptable, tech-savvy individuals to meet the demands of today’s media landscape.

KMH Integration has also launched an internal lab dedicated to exploring AI-driven music and video production, along with advanced editing tools. The initiative aims to deepen the team’s understanding of emerging technologies and their practical applications, reflecting the company’s commitment to staying at the forefront of innovation in creative production.

Media Innovation

Over the past few years, KMH has tackled some of the most ambitious projects in the media and entertainment industry. For News Corp — home to the New York Post, Wall Street Journal and Barron’s — they delivered cutting-edge solutions, including new studios, control rooms and podcast setups. “We integrated newer IP protocols where it made sense, blending SMPTE 2110 with baseband workflows,” Henneman explains. The team also handled set design, lighting design and installation, working closely with News Corp’s production team to bring their vision to life.

At MetLife Stadium, Henneman’s team upgraded the venue’s audio infrastructure, transitioning from an older IP audio protocol to Dante. “We helped lay the foundation for them to move into a more IP-based workflow by upgrading their core routing, distribution, and network systems,” he says.

Another standout project was News 12, which presented unique challenges as it unfolded during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. “It was a massive undertaking —two large studios, four smaller insert studios, newsroom areas, sports and weather zones, three control rooms, and even antennas on the roof,” Henneman recalls. The project required close collaboration with an architect based in Spain and the News 12 engineering and management staff.

In the heart of midtown Manhattan, KMH recently completed a project for a major financial institution’s new midtown headquarters, integrating advanced LED technology with AR and VR platforms. The result was a state-of-the-art environment that rivaled a major network’s technical production capabilities, elevating the institution’s brand. The centerpiece of the project features a stunning 40-foot-tall by 12-foot-wide, 0.9mm LED videowall in the lobby, which has since captivated visitors. “It was an exciting blend of AV and broadcast systems, made possible by a visionary client and an incredible team,” Henneman reflects.

In recent years, KMH has increasingly been brought in early during projects to collaborate with architects and mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers. This proactive involvement allows them to help design room layouts and coordinate systems upfront, avoiding costly adjustments later in the process.

“At KMH, we want to sit at the table with our customers as true partners, not just builders,” says Henneman. It’s about helping them navigate an overwhelming landscape of AI, software-driven solutions and IP technologies. It’s a challenging time for everyone, but that’s why we’re here — to stay on top of it, investigate and provide real answers.”

More Than a Job

KMH takes pride in offering more than just jobs — they offer careers. “In this business, technology is always changing, growing and evolving,” Henneman explains. “We’re in an industry where the sheer amount of video content being produced is astounding.”

“The work we do is dynamic and exciting. One day, you might be at MetLife Stadium ensuring the audio and LED screens are working for a New York Giants game. Another day, you could be in a major entertainment studio, surrounded by famous people and high-profile productions.”

He continues, “Coming from the film and video world, I’ve had the chance to meet incredible talents like Robert Redford, Robert De Niro and Michael Ballhaus, the cinematographer known for his work with Martin Scorsese. Those experiences gave me a sense of being part of something bigger, and I think that’s what draws people to this industry — it’s not just a job; it’s a chance to contribute to something meaningful and exciting.”

Henneman’s career is marked by groundbreaking projects, including leading NBC Studios’ transition from SD to HD, a move that made it the first major network to produce in HD. “At the time, we took Saturday Night Live into HD,” he recalls. That same control room later became the backbone for another iconic production: Sunday Night Football. “NBC came to me and said, ‘We want to use the control room you built for SNL to support Sunday Night Football.’ It was a massive project, involving Barco rear projection screens, and it was a pivotal moment early in my career.” For Henneman, these projects exemplify the dynamic and meaningful opportunities his company strives to provide.

Henneman emphasizes the importance of expertise and authenticity in his approach. “I don’t like sitting in front of people and pretending something will work when I’m not sure it will. That’s why we invest in our team and our tools. We’re committed to creating a lab environment where they can learn, experiment and truly understand how these technologies work. That’s how we ensure we’re delivering real value to our customers.”

Company Growth

“You can grow too quickly, and then your quality suffers,” says Henneman, reflecting on the balance between expansion and maintaining high standards. “I’m very big on consistency — making sure we’re doing things the proper way. When we bring someone new on board, we take the time to train them, get them acclimated to our processes and methodologies.”

For Henneman, this commitment to quality is non-negotiable. “We want to be able to hold our heads high with our customers. That’s the standard we’ve set, and it’s not easy. It takes time, money and effort to invest in training, procedures and policies to ensure consistency on the people side of the business.”

This dedication extends to continuity in project management. “When we start a project, we don’t swap out the project manager halfway through. That’s a death knell — you just don’t do that,” Henneman explains. “Some of our customers even write it into contracts, and we agree because we don’t believe in bait-and-switch tactics. They want to know who their project manager and engineer will be, and we make sure those people are there for the duration.”

As KMH Integration continues to grow, Henneman reflects on the delicate balance of scaling while maintaining the company’s hallmark quality and attention to detail. Looking ahead, he predicts a greater focus on software coders and IT professionals, a shift the company is already embracing by expanding its IT capabilities and bringing in software-focused talent.

With its innovative vision and commitment to collaboration, KMH Integration is set to shape the future of the industry. This forward-thinking approach will take center stage at the NAB Show, running April 18-26 in Las Vegas, where KMH will showcase its groundbreaking solutions and industry-leading expertise.

KMH Integration at NAB Show 2026

KMH is set to make waves at NAB 2026, arriving with a bold philosophy that redefines the broadcast and AV landscape. For two decades, the systems integrator has been bridging the gap between professional AV and broadcast, a divide it believes no longer exists. “What everyone else calls convergence, we call ‘AV Casting,’” says Henneman. “It’s about focusing on what the customer needs, not just their market.”
