The SAVe 2025 Global Conference brought together change-makers and problem-solvers from across the industry, all focused on a common goal: sustainability. During the event, Mike Rogers, senior sustainability manager at Crestron, delivered a compelling presentation on the company’s commitment to environmental responsibility and the power of a holistic approach to creating lasting change. Crestron also serves as the sustaining sponsor for SAVe 2025 Global Conference, held at UCLA Luskin Conference Center in Los Angeles.
A Systems Thinking Approach
In the session, Rogers emphasized that transformational change requires embracing systems thinking. Rather than isolating one part of a problem, this approach considers the entire system. He pointed to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a powerful example, where progress in one area is dependent on progress in others. This interconnected mindset is what drives Crestron’s own sustainability strategy.
Rogers then shared a timeline of Crestron’s recent sustainability highlights, demonstrating a clear commitment to continuous improvement. Key initiatives include:
- 2024: Implementing carbon accounting, forming the Crestron Sustainability Committee and conducting a double materiality assessment.
- 2025: Focusing on reducing operational waste and improving product and packaging design to eliminate unnecessary plastics.
Rogers noted, “There’s value in being more efficient in how you design products.” This philosophy directly connects to the company’s efforts to create more sustainable products from creation to disposal.
Crestron at SAVe 2025: Stronger Together
A core message from the session was one of unity and shared learning. “We’re in this together. We can learn from each other, no matter what the size of the company,” Rogers stated. This collaborative spirit is central to the mission of SAVe and its members. By working together, the AV industry can accelerate its progress toward a more sustainable future.
