Key Digital Introduces KD-X422WP Conference and Board Room Wall Plate

Key Digital has introduced the KD-X422WP wall plate HDBaseT extender set.

The KD-X422WP set includes a KD-X422WPTx wall plate transmitter and a KD-XWPRx black-box receiver.

This HDCP2.2 compliant set “extends UHD 4K/30 4:4:4 and UHD 4K/60 4:2:0 signals up to 125 feet over a single CAT5e/6 UTP/STP cable,” according to the Key Digital press release. [related]

For non-4K applications, 1080p/60 signals can be extended up to 230 feet.

KD-X422WP “is ideal for professional video installations in conference rooms, huddle spaces, class rooms, and more,” according to the Key Digital press release.

“While other wall plate options in the AV market include unnecessary and unattractive connections and settings on the face of the unit, Key Digital understands end users’ desire for function as well as a pleasing aesthetic.”

IR, RS-232, and power connections are located on phoenix terminals on the rear of the plate.

“Ever since we started specifying our new wall plate in consultant projects, the demand has grown in a big way,” said Key Digital sales manager Dwayne Husbands.

“Our new KD-X422WP HDBaseT extender set delivers the most robust method of HDBaseT using our exclusive Full Buffer Technology. That has allowed this and other Key Digital HDBaseT products for classrooms, conference rooms, and applications needing wall plates to be specified as No Substitution on many of the top consultant build sheets.”

Flexible POH (Power over HDBaseT) on KD-X422WP “gives the integrator the choice of powering either the Tx or the Rx unit,” according to the Key Digital press release.

A special 25-foot lead is built-in to the power transformer, which Key Digital calls “perfect for wiring up the wall from the Tx unit to the monitor if needed.”

For integrators looking for the most robust integration possible, a redundant power supply can be connected without damaging the units.

Even while concealing the technical features from the end users’ view, KD-X422WP still features professional tool suites, giving integrators the choice of EDID handshake delivered to the connected video source.

Each Tx unit may extend RS-232 to the connected monitor- projector or be set as a controllable device for collecting connectivity status.
