WyreStorm Slots 80% of Product Development to Pro AV and Is All In for InfoComm 2016

Published: May 11, 2016

WyreStorm doesn’t take InfoComm’s annual North American trade show lightly.

At last year’s InfoComm, WyreStorm accelerated its refocus on three distinct business and market segments—WyreStorm Pro AV for the commercial sector, WyreStorm Installer Solutions catering to the CI market, and WyreStorm Express aimed at retail or end user channels.

Hal Truax, WyreStorm VP for marketing in North America, recently chatted with CI about how the formerly residential market focused manufacturer of AV distribution solutions is now very committed to serving the professional AV market.

“We kind of cut our teeth in the CEDIA market here in the U.S. and within the last year allocated about 80 percent of our R&D and product development to the pro AV space,” he said in a CI 3 Questions interview.

“We’ve really assessed the market and looked at the opportunities and in doing so are keenly aware of the whole AV and IT merging so we develop products to fill the biggest voids in the market and make the end user and integrator experience a little bit easier. We’re really a solutions-based company looking to make the end user’s life a little bit easier and to make a world of difference in integrators’ markets and make their lives easier.”

Heading into InfoComm 2016, Truax says WyreStorm is focused on creating solutions around HDMI, HDBaseT and AV over IP. “We believe the type of technology used in AV projects is vital to its success and each platform offers its own unique advantages in providing a fully integrated solution for the application.”
