In the days before the InfoComm 2025 show, Commercial Integrator caught up with Audinate executive Joshua Rush. Rush, who serves as chief marketing officer at Audinate, focuses on interoperability and how Audinate is uniquely positioned to deliver on it. Moreover, he reflects on how Audinate has evolved as a business since last year’s InfoComm show.

Read the full interview to learn about all the latest from Audinate and why their InfoComm 2025 booth (#3311) isn’t to be missed.

Commercial Integrator: What do you think is the biggest story at InfoComm 2025?

Joshua Rush: Interoperability. The AV industry has been undergoing a significant transformation, steadily evolving to resemble the IT world in both form and function. Looking ahead, AV systems will increasingly rely on commodity, off-the-shelf hardware paired with cloud infrastructure to deliver scalable, flexible solutions. Core AV capabilities will be handled via software, bringing the agility and efficiency of IT to AV environments. In this new paradigm, IT managers will expect AV systems to function with the same simplicity and dependability as their IT infrastructure. They want everything to “just work,” meaning seamless interoperability between products from different vendors, easy remote installation and operation, and robust support services across the board.

We think Audinate is uniquely positioned to deliver interoperability for several reasons, including these:

  • We have deep, unmatched experience advancing interoperability with over 600 OEMs within our partner group, over 4,000 Dante-enabled products and millions of Dante nodes operating successfully in the market, around the world, every day.
  • In addition to audio and video signal routing, we are actively deploying new features like media encryption that works across manufacturers and products.
  • Remote management is another area where Audinate is providing cross-manufacturer capabilities, such as firmware updates, diagnostics, and routing, all to make it easier for system integrators and/or end users to manage their complete AV system through a single pane of glass or via an API.

CI: How has your business evolved since InfoComm last year?

Joshua Rush: Dante Director is gaining recognition for its pivotal role in helping customers transition to cloud-based tools and remote management. It provides powerful capabilities to organize, secure, and oversee Dante devices across multiple networks. As organizations increasingly embrace remote operations, Dante Director serves as a centralized platform that simplifies audio network management, allowing users to configure and monitor devices remotely with ease. It also strengthens security by enabling administrators to control access and enforce policies across distributed systems, while streamlining the management of multiple Dante networks from a single cloud-based interface.

On the video side, since last year’s show, Dante AV adoption has accelerated across industries like corporate AV, higher education, live events, and worship venues. Organizations are increasingly recognizing its ability to simplify AV-over-IP workflows by running high-quality video on the same Dante audio network they already trust. The feedback we see from real-world deployments consistently highlights easier integration of networked video, flexibility in system design, and reduced complexity by replacing traditional connectivity with standard Ethernet. Our manufacturers now have 100+ Dante AV-enabled products in the market, and we’re excited to see how customers continue to put them to work.

CI: How can people learn more?

Joshua Rush: Well, of course, they can learn about Audinate, Dante and interoperability in the pages of Commercial Integrator and from our website at GetDante.com, but we’d really encourage showgoers to come see us at Booth #3311, where our solutions will be on display and our team is happy to answer questions.
