In this exclusive Commercial Integrator interview, Richard Hill of SNA Displays talks DVLED applications in museums and themed entertainment. Hill, of course, serves as director of sales, museums and themed entertainment, with the LED display solutions company. This conversation touches on not only trends but also how DVLED displays can add texture and nuance to the visitor experience in these spaces.
SNA Displays Leans into Museums, Themed Entertainment
Early in the conversation, Hill touts the strength of the museum and themed entertainment category. “We’re seeing a lot of activity in that space right now,” he attests. Hill also underlines how many unique things clients can do with direct-view LED technology, making it different from other displays. “Architecturally integrating them into spaces that don’t conform to rectangles or 16:9 aspect ratios is a major trend that we’re seeing right now,” he explains.
Plus, Hill touts the interactivity of these displays. “You can keep visitors engaged with an experience that changes over time,” he says. In that sense, people can have a different experience every time they come back, supporting recurring traffic.
Moving from the theoretical to the concrete, Hill mentions that SNA Displays involved itself in supporting the San Antonio World Heritage Center. “The exhibit designers for that project had some unique visions for how to use LED,” he attests. Watch the full video to hear more about this use case!
Later, Hill offers a preview of a still-in-progress SNA Displays project with another U.S.-based heritage center. One of the major draws of the center will be to transport visitors into historical mines. “There’s even a portion of the display where the visitor steps into an actual mine car that goes simulated down into a mineshaft where you’re surrounded by LED video,” he describes.
