Published: 2018-05-18

The programmable Barix IPAM 400 IP Audio Module provides original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and system integrators a flexible platform to implement IP audio.

Barix introduces the product with a software developer’s kit (SDK) which enables third-party developers to incorporate Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) functions into IPAM 400-based products.

“The IPAM 400 is a true powerhouse and lets manufacturers take advantage of our 16 years of proven expertise and our high-performance, yet cost-efficient hardware to bring their developments to market faster,” states Reto Rader, VP of sales and marketing, Barix.

“SIP is a key capability for product developers these days, and our new SDK gives them a very fast way to add SIP to their offerings.”

Barix also says the IPAM 400 OEM module utilizes a Linux-based programming model with high levels of processing power to enable developers to include advanced audio features and complex signal handling into their products to meet just about any audio application.

Additionally, the inclusion of SIP support in the companion SDK provides developers the ability to include SIP-based Voice over IP (VoIP) in systems to address current trends such as combining intercom, paging and music-on-hold features with SIP-enabled phone PBXs under a single, unified control platform.
