For almost 25 years, The Sextant Group has provided independent building technology consulting services for higher education, corporate, healthcare and other clients. These services include audiovisual, information technology, security, acoustics and technical lighting.
“Now as part of NV5’s Engineering & Technology group, this new partnership strengthens The Sextant Group’s ability to provide clients with a broader range of services from a single entity,” according to the joint announcement.
NV5 offers planning, engineering, construction quality assurance, program and construction management, commissioning and technology consulting in the energy, transportation, government, hospitality, commercial, healthcare and education markets.
With the acquisition of The Sextant Group, NV5 now has more than 2,700 employees and more than 100 locations nationwide and abroad.
Thoughts on NV5 Acquiring The Sextant Group
“The acquisition of The Sextant Group positions NV5 as a national leader in building technologies,” NV5 chairman and CEO Dickerson Wright in the joint announcement.
“The company is a strategic fit with our fast-growing technology group and significantly differentiates our MEP design offerings to our national and international clients, specifically in the high education, hospitality, corporate, civic and healthcare market sectors,” he said.
With The Sextant Group in the fold, NV5 “can play an increasingly important role in the design or retrofit of ‘smart’ buildings,” Wright said in the announcement.
The acquisition “brings tremendous opportunities and benefits for our staff and clients,” said The Sextant Group president emeritus Mark Valenti in the joint announcement. “NV5 shares our commitment to discovery, innovation, impact and process.”
Joining NV5 “is a natural progression in the growth of our firm,” said The Sextant Group VP and managing director John Cook in the joint announcement.
“We have been impressed with NV5’s growth and market sector positioning over the past few years and are excited to be able to integrate our team of experienced and energetic technology specialists with the NV5 platform,” he said.
