SNA Displays recently marked its tenth year as the only major LED display manufacturer headquartered in the heart of Times Square. The company’s main offices are located at 1500 Broadway, a skyscraper that has been an iconic location in Midtown Manhattan since its construction in 1972.
“It’s hard to believe that one of the world’s most iconic places in video technology has been home to us or more than 10 years now,” says Dennis Hickey, president of SNA Displays. “In the beginning, we leaned on our Times Square presence and identity heavily, and that was a major benefit to us in a highly competitive landscape. We’ve experienced so much growth since then and now our expertise and footprint extend to dozens of verticals and specialties. But Times Square is still home, and you can’t beat being able to look out of your showroom window to a sea of your own outdoor spectaculars.”
SNA Displays has built and installed approximately 150,000 square feet of LED video in and around Times Square, including some of the most high-profile skyscrapers in New York. Several locations include massive LED mega-spectaculars of about 20,000 square feet. Additionally, SNA Displays has built the highest-resolution LED display in the history of Times Square – three times.
1500 Broadway has been home to many high-profile tenants over the years, including ABC/Disney, NASDAQ, Starbucks, Shanghai Construction Group America, and Essence Magazine, and is one of the most recognized buildings in Times Square. Since the late 1990s, the skyscraper has been a key player in Times Square’s digital facelift and is now a flagship digital-out-of-home (DOOH) site and anchor to Times Square’s visual identity.
