Who Will Be 2016 #BLC2016 Twitter Champion?

Published: February 18, 2016

Let the tweeting begin!

For the third consecutive year, NSCA Business and Leadership Conference attendees can earn rewards for their abilities to balance listening to the strong slate of speakers and sharing those insights with those who aren’t lucky enough to be there 140 characters at a time.

The good news for those who fell short last year in their quests to be declared BLC Twitter expert is defending champion Kourtney Govro won’t be there to defend her crown. That leaves room for Brock McGinnis of Westbury National to reclaim his 2014 championship or maybe for John Greene of Advanced AV to turn his creativity into a pair of AKG noise-canceling earbuds.

Or maybe a newcomer will emerge from the pack and send shock and awe through the Twittersphere. In any event, we know the competition will be fierce but at least it should be a lot more friendly than what we’ve heard from both Democratic and Republican candidates for president.

If your Twitter game is just short of championship level, maybe you’ll be able to earn two JBL blue tooth clip speakers instead.

Here’s how it works:

Before, during and in the days immediately following NSCA’s 2016 BLC, attendees should tweet with #BLC2016. Yes, only attendees are eligible to win (sorry, @realDonaldTrump) . During the week following the event, NSCA (@NSCA_systems) staff and Commercial Integrator (@CommIntegrator) editors will choose the three most prolific tweeters—and watch their industry colleagues turn green with envy as the winners shop for AV gear (or whatever they want).

Judging will be subjective, obviously, and they’ll simply consider which non-sponsoring attendees did the best job of sharing the spirit and content of the BLC with the Twittersphere. Volume of Tweets is a consideration but not the only factor weighed by the judges. In other words, creativity counts.

With more than 350 attendees at this year’s show, the competition is sure to be fierce when it comes to showing how you can separate yourself from the Twitter crowd.
