Slow and steady growth seemed to be the theme this month in the AV industry. Verrex not only opened its new location in L.A., but hired a new account executive to boost its consistently-expanding global managed services team. Electrosonic followed suit with another head of solutions.

The two medium-to-large integrators aren’t quite at the “mega” level our 2017 Integrator of the Year refers to, but it’s easy to see how they could soon dramatically increase their market presence.

Verrex Growth, Far and Near

Founded in 1947, integrator Verrex’s focus in recent years falls on identifying international markets. With offices in Mountainside NJ, Boston, Houston, London, Hong Kong, Shanghai — and now, California — market expansion seems to be the mantra at Verrex. And the new office isn’t just for CA clients.

According to the company announcement, the new Verrex office “will serve a regional, national, and international client and partner base.”

Meanwhile, back in NJ, new global managed Services account executive Charmaine Torruella will contribute to the company’s enterprise sales initiatives. She joins a team led by Verrex Director of Global Managed Services, Michael Shinn.

“Charmaine brings a wealth of knowledge and opportunity for Verrex staff, clients, and partners”, said Shinn. “She has a proven successful track record for relationship building. We are extremely excited to add her wealth of knowledge and capabilities to our GMS offerings. I’m personally very excited to learn from her and have her as a member of the team.”

Electrosonic Drives Unified Design Initiatives

Electrosonic, a key player in the entertainment and corporate markets, hires a new head of solutions with extensive AV industry experience.

Jim Fitton, a 26-year veteran of AV with consultancy, design, project management, and business development expertise, says he hopes to direct his focus on standardized, unified design solutions.

“Increasing our focus on technical design solutions enables us to have earlier engagement with the client and will ultimately save time and reduce costs during the design phase, as well as simplifying and speeding up the installation,” he says.
