Inside Almo Pro AV’s Decision to Provide Third-Party Labor

At E4 Tour Boston, Almo Pro AV speaks with CI about its new Installation Services, available to integrators working on jobs out of their reach.

Theres a huge demand in the integration industry for good labor. We spoke about this in our recent white paper, Opportunities & Challenges of Third-Party Labor, and now Almo Pro AV is moving into that space.

Just before the Almo E4 Tour rolled into Boston with three new vendors in tow, the company announced its new installation services, aimed at helping integrators and installers expand their project bandwidth and product reach.

The new services include site surveys, hardware recommendations, wiring attachment, mounting and testing the equipment, removing packing materials and more. The service is available for projects incorporating flat panel monitors, interactive whiteboards, video walls and premise wiring.

Last week’s E4 Tour took Almo and partners to Boston for the first time since the launch of the tour. There the company officially launched its Installation Services and spoke with CI about the program.

“The cost of recruiting good labor is so high,” Melody Craigmyle, marketing executive at Almo Pro AV, told CI. “With these services, we are eliminating that. We have reliable technicians who do a variety of different things, from video walls to projectors to interactive whiteboards, and we’re backing it.”

“Our partners have specifically told us that installation support to help to augment, customize or complete a project they are working on would be highly beneficial to their businesses,” said Sam Taylor, Almo Pro AV executive vice president and COO. “Almo Installation Services are designed to help integrators and installers improve customer service, reduce payroll and recruiting expenses, increase their ability to take on more projects, reduce travel and maintenance, grow their services revenue and more.”

Right now, the pro AV industry is doing well, explained Taylor. And when there is a surplus of jobs, there is a lack of labor.

“I just came from a conference of dealers out in Denver,” Taylor told CI. “The prevailing [message] was that they’d say, ‘We’re turning away jobs. We don’t have the bandwidth to do all these jobs.’ As integrators are growing, they need something to help them buffer the growth. It’s hard for them to staff up and ramp up quickly enough. It’s a good problem, but it’s a problem.”

Now, if a project is too far away, calls for products or services out of reach or requires extra manpower, integrators can take advantage of Almo Installation Services to complete the project thoroughly, confidently and on time.
