Organizers of Australia’s largest AV show have postponed the three-day Integrate Expo, which was slated for Aug. 19-21 in Sydney “after many weeks of monitoring the evolving situation around coronavirus” and consulting with partners, including AVIXA and CEDIA leadership.

“The success, as well as the safety, of our exhibitors and visitors, has always been our priority and this continues to be the case,” said Integrate Expo officials in the announcement.

“We put our customers at the heart of what we do, and this decision has been particularly difficult due to the importance of this event to our industry,” the announcement says. “Many companies rely on it to meet new and current customers and share the latest global AV innovations.

“However, following the recent government advice on social distancing, travel restrictions and the logistics required before the event, postponement is unavoidable. We are in uncharted territory and carrying on with the current dates would not be in the best interests of you or the rest of our community,” according to the announcement from Integrate Expo officials.

The Future for Integrate Expo

Many AV industry events have either been canceled or postponed as the coronavirus continues to spread around the world. A majority of the rescheduled events from the spring are moving to the late summer or early fall. InfoComm 2020 remains on schedule as planned in mid-June.

Integrate Expo organizers say they are “committed to finding a solution to deliver an event in Sydney, this year, to ensure business continuity to the AV industry” and expect to have more information within the next month.

Here’s more from the Integrate Expo postponement announcement:

We fully understand and appreciate the level of planning that is required to attend Integrate and would like to thank you – our exhibitors, speakers, partners, visitors, and the venue for your continued support and patience during this difficult time.

We will continue to support our community in any way we can and thank you for your patience and understanding during this challenging time. The strength of this community will persevere beyond Coronavirus (COVID-19).
