Why is CCS expanding into the Pacific Northwest?

CCS is expanding into the Pacific Northwest by adding Dan and Gennett Kaplan as partners to establish its first presence in Oregon and Washington. The Houston-based commercial audiovisual integration company announced the move May 4, with the partnership taking effect May 1, 2026.

The expansion adds a new region to CCS’s national partner network at a time when the AV industry is undergoing consolidation. Large integration firms have continued to acquire regional companies, changing the competitive landscape and creating openings for alternative business models.

Who are Dan and Gennett Kaplan?

Dan and Gennett Kaplan are the new CCS partners leading the company’s entry into the Pacific Northwest. Dan Kaplan will serve as principal and brings experience in integrated AV and building technology, including planning, design and project delivery.

CCS reports the team will advise corporate, healthcare, education and government clients on technology solutions tied to business needs. The company also pointed to Dan Kaplan’s background building dealer territories in the region and managing audiovisual technology across more than 300 meeting spaces at a Fortune 500 company’s headquarters.

“There’s a significant shift happening in the AV industry right now, with many of the strongest regional integrators being acquired by large national firms,” Dan Kaplan says. “That creates a real opportunity to build an organization that values local ownership, accountability and long-term relationships in the Pacific Northwest.”

What did CCS leadership say about the move?

CCS leadership describes the move as a strategic expansion supported by regional experience and a local ownership model. “We’re excited to welcome Dan and Gennett to CCS as we expand into the Pacific Northwest for the first time,” Ben Pickrel, president and owner of CCS Presentation Systems, says.

“That combination is rare, and it’s exactly what we want representing CCS in the Pacific Northwest,” Pickrel says, referring to Kaplan’s experience on both the dealer and client sides of the AV business.

How does CCS’s partner model work?

CCS’s partner model gives local operators access to national resources while allowing them to run their businesses with a degree of independence. The company says it provides training, operational support, marketing and vendor management through a framework it often describes as a business incubator.

With the Pacific Northwest addition, CCS now serves customers through partners in 19 states and Washington, D.C., with further expansion planned in other markets.

CCS Presentation System’s was named Commercial Integrator’s Integrator of the Year in 2013.
