In this exclusive Commercial Integrator interview, Valcom executive Dan Smith highlights the company’s InfoComm 2025 plans and its ezIP range of products and solutions. At the start of the conversation, Smith offers a high-level overview. “ezIP is a family of products that we’ve developed that allows customers that allows customers with simple paging needs to have advanced features at a very reasonable price point,” he says.
ezIP Fits into Valcom Product Portfolio
According to Smith, ezIP fits right in the middle of the product portfolio. “It is priced so that our price-sensitive customers can take advantage of it,” he says. “It has a retrofit capability so that, if they have that aging analog headend, they can simply cut off that headend and replace it with the ezIP system.” But the family also has a number of advanced IP features, including the capacity for unlimited scalability.
What’s more, ezIP is upgrade ready. “It also allows for upgrading to the more advanced features of our VIP system through simple licensing upgrades,” Smith explains. “So, it’s a very, very scalable system for a wide variety of customers.”
On the topic of vertical markets that ezIP suits particularly well, Smith emphasizes the broad applicability of the solution. He says it’s for “…anyone who has primarily simple, one-way paging needs with limited two-way communications, and may have some requirements for pre-recorded messaging or scheduled messaging.” Examples include industrial facilities, healthcare facilities, retail, transportation, higher education and government facilities.
Toward the end of the interview, Smith goes deeper into upgrade pathing for those looking to build upon the ezIP foundation.
