What Did AVPro Edge Install at Estadio Banorte?

AVPro Edge installed the world’s largest 10G SDVoE AV-over-IP (AVoIP) single network at Estadio Banorte in Mexico City, powered by AVPro MXnet. The company completed the project with regional distributor Duoson AV, brand representative Polaris Controls and systems integrator POP Media Technology. The network supports more than 500 video displays and over 20 videowalls across the venue. Together, those screens deliver live action, replays, wayfinding and branded content to fans throughout the stadium.

Why Was Upgrading Estadio Banorte Such a Challenge?

Upgrading Estadio Banorte was a challenge because of its sheer scale and age. The stadium opened in 1966 and rises nearly 7,218 feet (2,200 meters) above sea level, making it the largest venue in Latin America. Known across Mexico as “El Coloso de Santa Úrsula,” the building required pristine, perfectly synchronized video across every concourse screen, suite, hospitality space and giant videowall from a single source. For tens of thousands of fans in the stands and millions more watching worldwide, each screen had to come alive at exactly the right instant.

How Does the AVPro MXnet Ecosystem Work?

The AVPro MXnet ecosystem works as a single end-to-end system that routes any source to any screen on demand. At its core are MXnet 10G SDVoE transceivers, compact encoder and decoder endpoints installed behind each display. Those endpoints pair with MXnet 100G core switches, MXnet access switches and dual CBOX-HA control systems for high-availability management of the entire network. Because every endpoint communicates on the same network using the same protocol, operators can send live video to any display or large-format videowall anywhere in the building.

How Did AVPro Edge Prepare the System Before Deployment?

AVPro Edge prepared the system by building and testing the entire AV setup in its factory laboratory before shipping it to Mexico City. That approach validated the system architecture ahead of delivery and reduced the risk of problems once crews arrived on site.

“The AVPro design team set up and carefully tested the entire AV system in the factory laboratory before deployment, validating the system architecture prior to delivery to Mexico City,” says Kevin Wang, vice president of product development at AVPro. “This level of preparation ensured a seamless installation once onsite, demonstrating the significant value of combining detailed engineering and design preparation carried out by the entire AVPro team.”

What Warranty Backs the Installation?

A 10-year advanced replacement warranty backs the installation and every AVPro Edge product in the network. The coverage gives integrators added confidence that the equipment is built to last and supported by a manufacturer committed to the pro AV channel. For a venue of this size, that long-term protection helps safeguard a system fans and operators rely on every game day.
