What Did Watchfire Change in Houston?
Watchfire relocated its Houston operations to a new, larger facility at 9201 Winkler Drive. The move consolidates all Houston-based functions tied to its Spectrum by Watchfire fixed-digit sports scoreboards, including manufacturing, sales, service, and parts and repair, in a single space of more than 53,000 square feet. The new site replaces the team’s previous location at 10050 Easthaven Blvd. and provides a climate-controlled environment with greater capacity.
Why Does the Move Matter for Integrators?
The move matters for integrators because it expands the capacity behind Watchfire’s fixed-digit scoreboard production and support. By bringing manufacturing, service and repair into one purpose-fit space, the company positions the operation to handle growth and customer demand more efficiently.
“This move is part of our ongoing commitment to investing in Houston and in the people behind our scoreboard operation,” says Kyle Dines, vice president at Watchfire. “Our Texas roots run deep through Houston, and that isn’t changing. What is changing is the environment our team gets to work in every day and the capacity we have to keep building world-class scoreboards and supporting our customers. This facility puts us in a much better position to grow.”

How Does Spectrum Scoreboards Fit In?
Spectrum Scoreboards fits in as the foundation of Watchfire’s fixed-digit scoreboard business. Watchfire acquired Spectrum in March 2023 and integrated the Houston operation into its sports display business, keeping the facility as the hub for fixed-digit scoreboard manufacturing and support. Founded in 1971, Spectrum pioneered the use of LED technology in fixed-digit scoreboards and has served schools, colleges, parks and stadiums for more than five decades. The relocation preserves that history while updating the infrastructure behind it.
What Does the New Facility Mean for the Team?
The new facility gives the Houston team a modern workspace built to match the demands of the operation. The upgraded environment supports daily work and creates room for continued production and innovation.
“Our people are what make this operation run,” says Graham Bird, plant manager for Watchfire’s Houston facility. “They’re skilled, they’re dedicated, and they deserve a workspace that matches that. This new facility gives us the environment to keep growing, keep innovating, and keep delivering for our customers, and that starts with taking care of the team that makes it all happen.”
