If you’re working to renew your Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification or expand your expertise, here are four ways to earn renewal unit (RU) credits this month.
CTS certifications, valid for three years, require professionals to complete continuing education and reaffirm their commitment to the CTS Code of Ethics and Conduct, as outlined by AVIXA.
With over 14,800 CTS holders worldwide and 230 professionals now certified as Audiovisual Network Professionals (ANP), these programs continue to support the growth and development of AV industry pros.
1. NDI Professional Course
NDI recently launched a course to help professional design, deploy, and optimize advanced NDI workflows. NDI, is, of course, a global standard for IP video connectivity. This advanced course is designed for AV pros to enhance their AV-over-IP (AVoIP) skills and expertise. It builds on foundational knowledge and is part of NDI’s initiative to provide certified training to its global community.
Key details about the course:
- Access: Available to members of the NDI Connected Community for a one-time fee of $25.
- Certification: Participants receive the NDI Professional Certificate, signed by NDI’s technical director, and AVIXA certification with 3.5 RU credits for CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I and ANP.
- Content: Includes workflow walkthroughs, applied use cases, and flexible, anytime learning.
- Eligibility: No prerequisite to complete the free NDI Basics Course, though it remains available for beginners.

2. Extron Network AV Specialist Certification
Extron launched its Network AV Specialist (NAVS) Certification as a self-paced online program. This training equips AV pros with the skills to design, implement and manage Extron NAV Pro AVoIP systems, including the NAVigator System Manager.
The program covers key topics like networked AV fundamentals, system design, configuration, and troubleshooting, while offering accredited continuing education units (CEUs) from AVIXA and BICSI.
The online program is Ideal for system designers, engineers and technicians. Certification is earned after completing all modules and a final exam.

3. K-Array Certified Designer & Installer
K-Array recently launched a new online e-learning platform.
The AVIXA certified courses cover topics from system design and installation to expert-level insights into different product types and ranges. The first courses available, K-array Certified Designer & K-array Certified Installer, provide tools for equipping AV integrators and consultants with the knowledge required to design and build K-array audio systems and maintain them via K-array’s suite of software solutions for monitoring and control. A KSCAPE certified integrator course is currently in development, the company says.. Each course provides two AVIXA CTS RU credits upon completion, as well as an official K-array certificate.

4. Nureva Technical Certification Program
